Diane Luby Lane is an award-winning author, social entrepreneur, producer, and educator. She is the Founder and CEO of the LA nonprofit Get Lit-Words Ignite, one of the world’s most successful teen literacy nonprofits. For the past fifteen-plus years she has created and produced original programming for some of the most iconic theaters in Los Angeles including the Orpheum, ACE, Actors’ Gang, Los Angeles Theater Company, the Skirball Cultural Center, and The Wiltern. As a film producer, she co-produced SUMMERTIME, co-written and starring 27 Get Lit Poets, which opened Sundance in 2020 and is now streaming; and in 2021 the documentary film OUR WORDS COLLIDE, executive produced by Rosario Dawson, now streaming.  Her books have been published by Hay House, Samuel French, and Simon and Schuster and won the Nautilus Award for books that uplift humanity. Since 2006, over 100,000 students have graduated from the Get Lit program, recognized as a Library of Congress International Literacy Best Practice Nominee (twice) for its curricula. The Get Lit Players (Get Lit’s teen ambassadors) have performed at the Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, Hollywood Bowl, and the White House. Diane has taught at Yale, USC, and UCLA. She is a two-time TEDx speaker and has appeared on the Kelly Clarkson Show, NPR, and in the LA Times, NY Times, and The New Yorker. An actor since she was 18, she is represented by Innovative Artists, appearing in multiple national and international commercial campaigns; Screen Actors Guild (SAG) member. She is married, the mom of two children, currently in college, and spiritually hundreds more. She is an Agape licensed Spiritual Practioner and a Certified Mindfulness Instructor. Her North Star quote is “Glowing is the highest form of prayer,” and she received the Volunteer Service Award from President Barack Obama. Her superpower is seeing other people’s superpowers and helping create opportunities for them to shine.
